Tuesday January 20, 2009
Super 8 Motel
Grangeville, Idaho

The meeting was called to order at 7:05. In the absence of Chairman Lott Smith, the Chairman had contacted ICRCC Secretary Jim Chmelik to preside. Jim asked Betty Alm to act as secretary.

There were fourteen present and a quorum was established. Present were Marge Arnzen, Betty Alm, Sheryl Nuxoll, James Rockwell, John Brandt, Mike May, Chris Fourmer, Doug Giddings, John E. Solburg, Ken Frei, Tom Igo, Donna Wassmuth, Jolene Rupp and Jim Chmelik.

The Treasurers Report a balance of $1,466.34.

Unfinished Business: A motion was made and seconded to seat Doug Ulmer in the seat which was held by Jack Breem. Bill Rosenau, Big Butte also wishes to resign. Jim Pagel from Big Butte would like to replace him. No vote taken. Jim is a fish and game officer.

New Business:
There were many ideas as to speakers and content of the program for the Lincoln Day Dinner to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Elks in Grangeville. If the Elks is unavailable, Green Creek is the second choice. It was decided to contact the Regional Chairman of the Republican Party, LeAnn Collier so we might set a date for our Lincoln Day Dinner and auction. We are suggesting either the 14th or 21st of March. Lott is to contact the chairman of Lewis County and invite them to attend. And also Lott is to contact and invite the elected state and federal officials. Doug Giddings will contact government classes in the high schools and give out free tickets to the dinner and strongly encourage the students to bring their parents.

A Lincoln Day planning committee was formed, volunteering were Marge Arnzen and Donna Wassmuth. Betty Alm also offered to assist. It was also decided to get 6-8 pies and a German Chocolate Cake for the auction plus items the state officials would bring. The group wants the auction to be during the meal. Lorie Rockwell will be asked to print the tickets.
As discussion progressed those present began to feel that a representative from the NRA might make a very interesting program for the Lincoln Day Dinner, instead of just our elected officials. Skip Brandt will locate a good speaker from the NRA, so the elected would simply be introduced and not speak at any length.

There was also discussion of a future program during school hours consisting of a panel of our local elected republicans which would be for government classes, there is no set date. We will discuss this more in February.

The next ICRCC meeting will be Feb. 10th at 7:00 at the Super 8.
